Here are some tips for setting up your camera trap: Set up the camera at a height of about 1.5m/2m with the camera facing slightly downwards. Set up the camera facing north or south. Do not face east or west as sunrise and sunset can cause the camera to be triggered and produce overexposed images. When monitoring a stream, point the camera along the stream rather than perpendicular to it. This allows you to see several animals at once if they are passing in a line. Avoid placing the camera on a frail tree that may move in a strong wind. Try to place the camera on a stable, fixed support. Clear any branches or grass in front of the camera. In windy conditions or high temperatures, they may cause the camera to shut down unexpectedly. Check the batteries before setting up the camera. Make sure the memory card is inserted correctly. Check that the date and time are correct. Remember to turn the switch to the "ON" position before you leave.
